Here’s what I’m doing today on my flight to Boise from Oakland (via PHOENIX) instead of something productive. I’m putting together my annual list of A Few of My Favorite Things. Well, I made one two years ago, and then there’s this one…..Anyway, without further ado, here are some things I’ve LOVED in 2011. You might consider treating yourself or someone you love to something on this list for Christmas!
1. Benefit Cosmetics
I started using their products a couple of years ago….and oh my my. I don’t know where to start: the packaging is sassy and fun (and earth-friendly), everything smells luscious, and it loves my skin and my skin loves it! No breakouts, dry, flaky spots, no blotches. LOVE this company! Want to marry it.
Here are two of my faves….this eyeshadow combo (complete with primer)
2. Tokyo Milk’s Dead Sexy Perfume
I first discovered this little gem in Nashville (Green Hills). I’m a super picky fragrance person. I rarely find something I like, and I absolutely swooned over this one. Bought the sample right off the shelf (it was their last one) then hunted it down on the web and ordered more. Kind of earthy/warm and fresh, too. And? Under $30!
3. Peet’s Holiday Blend
I’m a card-carrying Peet’s fanatic, and every year their holiday blend is a little different and always delightful. This year, no different. I’m not sure if they distribute it to grocery stores like their regular blends, so it makes a nice gift for friends who don’t live in a Peet’s Zip Code.
4. Aveda’s Color Conserve Shampoo/Conditioner Duo
Nothing keeps my roots at bay longer than this combo. AND it smells as delish as every other Aveda product. BEST thing you can use to prolong your color. No comparison.
Ok, not a product–a TV show my sister Heidi turned me onto earlier this year. I’m not much of a TV watcher. (I prefer my laptop addiction.) But whoa–cool show, cool characters. Understated, intelligent acting. It keeps rakin’ in the Emmys so it must be doing something right. I dig it. CBS Sunday nights. Go back and start at Season One…..
6. Katie Herzig’s new album
This girl’s music just keeps growing on me…and this album is knocking my sox off. It’s like a little Kate Bush meets Coldplay meets someone folky. Gorgeous production…”Lost and Found” is mesmerizing.
7. Harry and David Dark Chocolate Moose Munch
I’ve been known to start in at 7am if there’s a box of this decadent goodness anywhere near my reach….I try not to keep it around too often, but will sometimes splurge around the holidays. It’s pure addiction, so be warned. You will not be able to stop.
8. Girly Muse Necklaces
I have fallen in L-O-V-E with just about every one of Girly Muse’s (aka Lori Sabin) necklaces, some of which she created for my Divine Work of Art Seminars. Every time I wear them I get oohs and ahhs; they looks uniquely funky with everything I wear. PLUS, they’re great conversation starters: ”Create Beauty” & “Divine Work of Art” are two of the sayings on the back. :) Click on the pic to go shop!
My flight is almost over….and I have killed enough time with this dreamy nonsense! I had fun compiling this list, feel free to leave a comment with a couple (or few) of YOUR faves.
xoxoxo

I’ll see your eight faves and raise you ten. Just publicly acknowledging that I’m going to lift this idea for my own blog site with credit back to you. Like the sounds of Tokyo Milk’s Dead Sexy and will check out The Good Wife (being a non-TV-ish more laptop-ish person as well). Thanks for sharing–I wish everyone would do this.
Good to hear from you Jules! Yes, please do one of these and let me know when you post it!
I can attest to #3! LOVING the Holiday Blend! And what a fun surprise to get to #8~ thank you, my friend!
I think I will be trying all of these! Especially #7!
You’re so welcome….and it’s true! They’re among my top faves of the year.
