This past week has been a dream come true–I wish you could have been there with us! We recorded drums, bass and guitars at The Library Studios in Minneapolis, MN and got some AMAZING sounding tracks (that’s what we in the biz call the basic instrumental elements of a song–without lead vocals).
Nate Sabin produced, as you know. Steve Goold played drums (Owl City’s new drummer); Aaron Fabbrinni played bass (plays for Sara Groves, Jason Gray, others); Tyler Burkum played electric guitars (of the band Leagues, also plays for Mat Kearny and others) and Nate on acoustic. They poured their hearts and souls into these songs, and I’m loving the new direction and vibe of this album!
I had my iPhone handy and got a few pics and some footage of the sessions.
I’m heading to Minnesota again in a couple of weeks to record the REAL vocals. (what you’re hearing on the video is just “scratch” vocals)
