STACI FRENES’ NEW SINGLE SWEET REUNION
A Timely Message of Hope
Longshot Records artist Staci Frenes begins a new year and a new decade fittingly: with a new single, Sweet Reunion, an infectious, acoustic/pop anthem with a new twist on an age-old message: hope. “This song is for those of us who feel like giving up on the things we once believed, because of unanswered questions, because of unhealed wounds, or because we fear that our hope is somehow in vain,” Frenes says of the song she wrote, which is the third radio single from her current album, Meteor Shower, produced by Nate Sabin (Jason Gray, Sara Groves)
“A good friend of mine lost her husband unexpectedly; and for weeks I had no words that I thought could possibly convey the extent of my sorrow or wishes of comfort. I finally sent this song to her, hoping it would help in some small way. Her reply was, ‘Thank you for writing this…the words were so perfect, so right; as if you had written them directly to me and about my loss.”
For every tear you cried, for every question why
There’s gonna come a time
When you don’t hope in vain, you won’t be ashamed
Someone knows your name
And there’ll come a day of sweet reunion
Wait, when everything just aches
To see face to face
There’ll come a day of sweet reunion
And while no one could have predicted the catastrophic loss experienced by so many in the recent Haiti tragedy, the song’s release and message of hope seem timely in its wake. “In this life we get hints and guesses of what our eternal reunion with God will look like; but ultimately, this life is one of faith in what cannot yet be seen or fully known. Until then, we hope in the promise that one day, even the most painful and confusing mysteries will be understood, and we will see Him face to face.”
